WHAT GREASE TO USE IN CTM JOINTS?

The Bostik anti seize is what came with my Yukon super joints. I had one gall pretty bad though, so I’d be interested in trying something else.

How wide is too wide? Axles…

Thanks for the replies. I should’ve mentioned, the front is currently 2-3” wider than the rear. So new rear will be a little wider than the front… I think I’m gonna roll with it.

How wide is too wide? Axles…

Axle width? How wide are you guys comfortable running? Here in the SE. Leaf spring cab truck, nothing fancy but it works ok for my purposes. I’ve got a rear D70HD I’m gathering parts for and it’s close to 5” wider than the 60 it’ll replace. 73” wms or so… Just checking myself before I go down...

Will a Rear Detroit unlock during a Front Dig?

Yes, there is a definite front weight bias (60/40?). And that's about as light as I can make it without major surgery. Looks like money saved here on a Detroit...

Will a Rear Detroit unlock during a Front Dig?

No cutting brakes. Normally I'd unlock the rear, usually hold the brakes, but not always, & drive through the brakes with the front. But I'm welded so it has to drag the outside tire. Still a tighter turn than no dig but I know (think) it'd be tighter with the rear tires able to turn...

Will a Rear Detroit unlock during a Front Dig?

Title pretty much says it. Will a Rear Detroit (or other auto locker) unlock during a front dig? with brakes applied? My last axles I had Detroits F&R but no dig capability. Now on 60's welded and have twin stick 205. I'm long @ 120" WB... I'm building a rear 70 and found a cheap ($300)...

Ultra4 - Tear Down in Tennessee (AOP, South Pittsburg, TN) East series

For the guys that went last year, how is the spectating either during the race or qualifying? Are you able to do some trail riding on the same weekend? Can you spectate from the trail or only down in the field? Really want to make it this year, just looking for details...

Tube notcher suggestions for home shop

Yeah, the build co guillotine notcher looks really nice, but at $550 it's getting a bit above my budget. The pro tools one looks a lot like the JD2 I used, and not being able to notch near a bend was a PIA. Also the limited angle of notch made it less usable IMO....

Tube notcher suggestions for home shop

Thanks for all the input. That Versa notcher looks sweet. The JD2 with the goat and the reach around:oops: are basically the same price as the versa. As listed the capabilities seem similar also. Anyone have experience with both? Preference or pros/cons to either one?

Tube notcher suggestions for home shop

I'm looking for a tube notcher. Budget is definitely a consideration but I am leery of the harbor freight things... It will be used at least at first for smaller projects, tube doors, adding to an existing cage, bumpers etc. A full cage/chassis may be in the future but not any time real soon...
