This was a lot of fun last year, we plan on making it this year as well!

I plan to be there Thursday/Friday-Sunday.

Typically they prerun all day Thursday and most of Friday. Run Qualifying Friday afternoon, and then racing from 9am-6pm.

You dont realize how freaking fast these guys are until you see them. I think it was Erik Miller that adveraged 30mph on the course which is insane.

Can you spectate from the trail or only down in the field?

It's mostly a woods race, so you can do some hiking to get to some points of interest. The places you can drive to up on the mountian are crowded, because most people don't want to get more than 20-30 feet from a cooler... it's good to move around and see different parts of the course, the dragstrip down the main field, the short course, etc.

the south side of the park was open and empty while we were there and we rode a few hours on saturday morning. Then after the race was over and the racers were accounted for, the course marshalls pulled the tape down and said "have at it", and it was open for riding.

years past you could ride the left side of the park while the race was going on. one year they shut down part of trail 1 causing a little bit of an issue when the rains hit and none of the rzr racers could make part of the course they changed it legit right before the race started. but the other classes it wasnt an issue.

If all goes as planned, I will be making them run 41 and 65 up below the bottom of bounty hill. I'll taking trail 64 out of their options so spectators can walk down (what would be the hill between 64 and 65) to get a better viewing of them coming up through that rock garden. Since only a few racers used 64 last year. I figured spectators would benefit better. Will also have the area beside One Shot hill. After that, a lot depends on the course JT picks out. We also have plans for something better in the field as they head towards the track. I will also try our best to have a map marked or at least have a pieces of paper to hand out with the maps they will tell you spectator areas. And yes unless they get overloaded with racers (so we have to make a stupid long course) part of the middle and the whole left side of the park will be open to riding.

Always a fun event. It's tough to make spectator areas in the woods. It is what it is. I know Benji and the AOP/ U4 crew will do their best.

I'll be there! Was there last year for just Saturday and really wished I had made plans for the whole weekend...planning on Fri - Sun this year.

Last year was as hot a day as you could get at AOP, it was really intense. But the racing was amazing. I sat at the start finish line for awhile to watch certain racers take off, which was really cool. also went down along the long straight and watched the racers come out of the woods hot and hit those whoops and then hot again onto the short course down near the creek.

I hope this year there are some decent vantage points in the woods, we'll see.

That’s what we did last year on Thursday night in the juggy and Explorer after clearing it with Ultra4.

Took us 30-35ish minutes of drive time to do a lap. Took longer than that between me picking the wrong trail once, pulling over to let racers keep running at 1/2 speed, and the Explorer losing a brake line.

To put that in perspective, fastest 4400 lap was barely under 20 minutes.
