:hi: Looking for some adv. on welding to my D 60 that im in the process of narrowing. Ive chopped the Cs off. And on the short side want to attach the C to the housing. Still using the tube just no gap to weld the C to the

Are you saying there is no tube to weld the c to since ya norrowed it soo much? As in the c right to the center chunk?

welding right to the chunk. i have plenty of tub left im trying to move the pinion over as far as possible. By illimenating the gap between C and housing it gains me 3.5in.

I am def no expert, But would welding the outermost part of the tube to the c work??

leave 2.5 of total tube so there's 1/2" left to weld, don't be foolish and junk your housing over 1/2", is it gonna be the deal breaker or something? Also if your using leaf's you'll never be able to properly attach a spring pad desirably. and if your using link's I alway's like to atleast get one link tab on steel rather than both on cast.

my prob. is that cruiser frames are narrow with my atlas clocked flat i have 21 in. of ground clearance awsome but iv got a 2 piece driveline and that is gay.

2 piece drivelines do make for more moving part's which kinda suck's, but anymore lot's of people run them and if mounted right it's really not a big deal.

the two piece has only broke once but thats one too meny . what ive learned so far is to just preheat to around 225-250 weld the snot out of it and insulate well and let it cool slowly.

what are you using for materials and part's for your ds? the only reason you should have to preheat is if you were to use an axleshaft driveline
