Hard to find odd ball Dana 60 shaft

those axles are pretty sick, only older jeeps and mopar muscle cars came with them. What bearings are you gonna run, stock style or go with a set 20?

new gears and wheels are worth it to me anyday over hunting for parts for my rig and then when you do find them they cost you more than gears and wheels ever would :awesomework:

i HAVE A THE 5.5 DANA 60 WHEEL HUB CONVERSTION IN FRONT AND LOCKS. SO IT WOULD COST A **** TON OF CASH TO CONVERT. BUT IM CONTAINPLATING IT

You could always turn the 14-bolt hubs down and run 5 on 5.5 in back.

Pirate is your friend there. I heard of it being done, but only briefly researched it. 14-bolts (or atleast the outers) are pretty much the only "common" FF you can do this with, since the wheel hubs and axle flanges are small enough, with enough meat to turn down to fit a 1/2T wheel center hole.

If i do any thing i would get a full floater 60. More ground clearance than the 14bolt.

Build a Dana 60 rear with the same outers as your front. Then run 300M full float double ended shafts. You can use the same 5 lug bearing hubs, bearings, spindles, calipers, rotors and driveflanges as the front so it is easy to work on and get replacement parts.

Do you know the current width? I forgot. What shaft are you breaking, the stock length or the narrowed side?

check some of the late 60 fords, they came with d60 Semi float 5x5.5 as an option.

They came in some 1967-69 2wd pickups, all are 30 spline. My Dads 1978 Bronco had one swapped in after he broke 3- 9" housings in 1978

They show Caseys axle as a J-20 but it should say J-4000, all the J-20s are the newer full floating 8 lug 60s.

your best bet for a narrow D60 is a 69-72 ford. 63.5" WMS, prior to 69 they are narrow but spindles are not big enough to bore for 35 spline shafts.
