My father and I are wiring his house up after a complete remodel and one of the things he planned on was to jump from box to box with the coaxial for a few boxes to cut back on the amount of home runs he had to make with the coax. He planned on having to cram a regular splitter (one in, two out) into each box behind the plate that has one coax connection and one phone connection on it like the one below

My question is: Is there a wall plate that has a splitter built into it to where it has one "in" and one "out" behind the plate and only one "out" coming out the front of the plate, along with the phone outlet too? Or is there an easier way to jump coax in a box without cramming a splitter in the box?

I put a bank type splitter/ multiplex with a booster in the attic ran a main in and a single out to each plate from there. Phone comes the same way from a media center. Phone wires are lugged down in the box and ran to each location. Should work with perfect with the plate you showed. I can't remember where I got the coax splitter but media center came from Lowes, I would guess the splitter did too.

I wouldn't run that many splitters, you loose signal at each one. You'd be better off with taps but even then the above suggestion would be better. Cable is best home run, you loose signal every time you splice, split or tap it and most companies don't put out much anyway.

I'm a cable tech and I beg of you not to daisy chain your outlets together.
You lose signal through every splitter and it makes it impossible to correctly install equipment and have it function properly.
The modem requires the best possible signal and then a HD digital box and finally the standard digital convertors.
By daisy chaining the outlets like you describe you limit where you can install a modem and have it behave the way it needs to provide you with good service.
Please home run all outlets to a central location either in a smart panel along with your telephone wires and ethernet connections or the side of the house near where your power meter will be installed as we need to bond to the ground rod provided by the power company.
If you have any questions regarding anything else to do with cable feel free to contact me

Thanks guys! I told him not to daisy chain outlets but unfortunately he ran the wire and will not be taking it back out as that would be an admission of a mistake. I'm just glad I don't have to live there. I will let him do it the hard way since he has a hard head
