Maxxis 42" Comp Trepador coming

Really I'm not sure I will check and let you know. I usually run around 10 lbs. I would like to know what most run.

I usually run mine around 10-12psi.

Rumor is the tire is being released sometime in May

And about the 1.5 " more ground clearance comment , to me every single inch matters, not only that it would be more than one and a half inches I can assure you from a 40" to a 44 ..

I was saying that the increase in diameter of the tire only increases the ground clearance by 1/2. If you go from a 40" to a 43" that is 3 inches total, 1 1/2 on the bottom and 1 1/2 on top of the tire, therefore adding 1 1/2 inches of ground clearance.

Re:

I wonder of releasing the 42 will make the 40s cheaper? Might also be easier to find used 40 treps when people go to the 42s

Why is there a need for greater 40"? Our rocks are nothing compared to west coast, and you don't hear them run huge tires. Maybe pick a better line.

go to Hale Mt. and try to follow someone on the hardest trails who is running 44's or bigger all day, i can almost guarantee you will destroy your junk trying to hang with them on 39's

Does anyone have a measurement of a 40" trip on a rig with trail pressure ? What width of rim do they work best with ?

depends on your preferred trail psi, vehicle weight etc. probably 38.5" - 39" at 8-10psi.

several comparison pics I found online...

Been to hale mountain several times and did a lot on 37's. Even took 40" treps once.

Measured mine before last trip, 38.5", 4000lb rig, 8 psi. They are probably 60%tread

On a side note, also measured my new "Florida" tires, 41.5 pit bull rocker radials, 16 psi, measured 40"

Anymore updates on the 42 treps? I'm leaning towards these if they come out soon enough. I loved my 43" stickies but the treps look badass too!

Real tires (reds) don't have that issue ....

No **** that's because they are always flat. So the measure 30" or so I would guess. The best part about the TREP tho piper is, Ya dont have to rock forward and backward in Ur seat to get Ur rig to move in the mud. Seein as how I'm positive God hates off-roading. No other way to explain the rain every dam time we ride. Man o Man!

I'd be curious what would happen if someone hit them up for false advertisement. Probably find some sort of fine print like *when filled to 100 psi*

Haha. 3" wide! Ha. I did fill mine up to 40. Which is the max PSI. Just to ****ing see what's up, about to measure. The more I think about this the more I want to know how they come up with the tire sizes.
