Hauled rig last week with a buddies duramax. Now I want one.

My truck is k2500 with 454. Would you guys swap ( plus cash from me to him)

I'm diesel ignorant, so not even sure what to look for.

Haven't went to meet in person yet, but seems like ok deal to me. Thoughts?

Lb7 dmax's are good trucks. The main things I'd worry about is the trans & cp3 getting weak with the mods & mileage it has - neither one of those are cheap fixes. :****:

Hell I'd be interested in your truck.
I been wanting a crew cab like yours for a while.
If you want to sell it PM me a price or text me.

You'd have no trouble selling that truck, it's sharp as hell! I'd be interested

Thanks for the compliments and thoughts. A d-max swap would be, in my opinion, way to much to invest in that truck. Maybe not, but I also don't want to do that project either.

I'm still on the fence about this. Even if I don't do the trade, I don't know if I want to sell or keep it. There are pros and cons both ways for gas and diesels. Since I only haul my jeep about 10 long trips (3+ hrs is what I am calling long) maybe I don't even need a diesel.

I'm going to do some more research on my engine. I'm not an engine builder by any means and with the computer playing a big role in vehicles these days, I'm not going to attempt any upgrades myself. (have a tune, K&N, and exhaust right now).

I'm going to see if I can't find someone who can give me prices on getting more power from this engine. I know it's there, I just don't know the right "combination" of parts that are needed.

Anyway, I'll try to update the thread on what I decide to do. And If I do decide to sell it, I'll PM and text the guys who asked.

No way would I ever buy someone elses modified truck. Just based on all the tuner mods he did, the lift, exhaust, and the gay sticker on the windshield screams that he beat on that truck. I would look for something stock if you are wanting to get into a diesel. IMO

With the amount of towing you said you do, I'd keep your truck. I'm a fan of gasser tow rigs for people that only tow once every month or so, like myself. I had a 24v Cummins dually for about a year. Sold it and bought a new 18' car trailer and a Suburban. I've towed more miles with my Burban than I did with the Cummins and I still don't miss it. Is it as fast or as strong? No, but I get there just fine and I can replace the engine and trans in the Burban for less than a set of injectors in a Duramax.

Re:

I'm in the "can't justify a diesel so I got a big block club". I got a nicer truck for 7 grand less because it wasn't diesel. You can buy a lot of gas for 7 grand.

To me, any vehicle with a windshield banner is like a dirtbike with Metal Mulisha/Rockstar/Monster **** on it. Its just a sign that says "don't buy me". Between the power mods, the windshield banner and the accessories, it just screams shitbeat brodozer.
You have a unicorn...a clean OBS big block crew cab. I would be keeping it.
