I love the vid's . I have a friend north of crystal river who is thinking of a toyota trail rig. We both like the Vid's of hardrock and the creek run. If he gets into it I would bring my rig down for a long weekend .. I would like to go when the toyota group is going.. I just love to see them work. Any info or people near him or maybe with a empty seat would be cool. I think it would light a fire under his ass. He has all the stuff for a build.. just needs to see it all first hand. I looked for your off road club on FB with no luck. Thanks.

He's rite near a bunch of folks in that area. "Florida association of Toyota trucks " is the best Facebook group we have, try that and I'm sure he can join in on some rides. Whenever you wand to head down let me know we will show you a good time, Hardrock is a good park that have a little of everything.

I am not far from there either...about 1.5 hours north. We have a good group that goes down there occasionally, about due for another trip actually.....but it would be after the end of the month, heading to Windrock! just wish I was driving my own rig......

Did anyone climb Concussion, or Bounds hill?

Nope....my buddy is his buggy got close but didn't make it out the top. My damn rig is so wide some of it was a challenge just to get it between the trees. Concussion gave me the new trail damage in the pic lol.

Yup...same tree got me! :****: My front tires bounced off that upper ledge and slid me right into it.

The hill is worse than it looks in the pics for sure. That terrain is different than any I've been on. It looks hard packed in places but turns to powder soon as your tires spin.

Cool video! You made it look pretty easy there. Knowing you rolled on it twice makes me not feel as bad about my fail lol.

On a side note I guess u polly saw the old truck axles and parts in between the hills. They could do some damage to your tires.

That's an entire truck buried in that ****. We tried to winch it out and realized its a full truck buried upside down.

PM me when you get up here, I'll bring mine and ride with y'all.

I'm about 1.5 hours away too, and would love to ride with a good group of built rigs. I got another Jeep a few weeks ago and can't wait to see how it does. Be sure to post up when you guys come up with a date.

Is it worth a 5-hour one-way haul?
I don't think so, especially if you are much closer to other parks. For most of us in Central Florida, any park in the Southeast is a minimum of 7-8 hours away. We go to Hard Rock every few months because it is the best park that we have, but I don't think I would go if it was a 5 hour drive. If you happen to be coming here for some other reason, definitely check it out while you are here.

JJ Shawn and I drove down just to check it out kinda a spur of the moment thing. We had a good time as we always do and met some cool people. There were some climbs that neither of us made and some we made easily. I thought the park was beautiful with some nice trail riding and some good climbs. Theres about a day of riding there...We rode from 10am till bout 4 then drove back.

When comparing we can drive to Chocco or Morris Mt in the same time frame obviously those parks are better. That being said if a ride gets put together at Hardrock I would consider going back.

With a small group of 5-6 buggies, you can do everything at hardrock in one day. Great thing is though is it is pretty much a free for all, so if you see something that looks like a challenge you can always build new obstacles. Another plus is there are several other play spots close by that the locals can show you.

It would for sure be worth it if we put another one of our ride / BBQ's together. I also flipped off concussion hill in my buggy. That is one tough hill. :****: :****:
