Goodyear MTR Stickies?

There's no way a 43 SX sticky measures 40". :****: They are way bigger than 39 reds and 39 reds measure true to size.

How are you measuring these tires? Proper way to measure mounted on a rig would be from one side to the other, not from the ground up. As when running low air pressure, of course a tire is not going to measure the correct height from the ground with the weight of a rig on it.

Ok I did miss by 1/2 inch, story of my life! NEW 43 Sticky mounted at 12 psi. Best I can tell its 40 1/2 max. This is OFF of rig no weight.

42 mtr and 42 irok are the only 42'' sticky for a 17" rim too. You couldn't pay me to run an irok ever again.

I have rode with a guy that had a set of "sticky" iroks and they didn't seem to do much better than than regular ones.

Great tires, true to size, not baby sized BFGs, not heavy as hell SXs. :dblthumb:
I thought I would hate 'em, but quickly recognized them as the BEST tire I've ran since cut TSLs

Video does no justice, I was running 30psi (seriously) that day so Gus & Timmie keep up ;D

There even great in mud :smoke:

My 4 New Stickies must have been run on the 40 inch day? They sure say 43 on the outside though. All I have checked have been short from the floor to the top of tire, No big deal just the nature of the beast.

40" treps measure 38"ish mine are about 1/2 tread and measure 37.5" :****: I had some goodyear stickies years ago and they were real good tires. I might say they were better than treps.

Agree with Matlock- I ran a set of 39 BFG reds on my ranger truggy for 4 seasons and they were great on dry rocks-struggled in slop- worst in freezing thawing early spring rides. Went with the 40" MTR stickies a few seasons ago. Much better in the mud and close to the reds in dry rocks. I wish I had gotten the 42's when I got the 40's-they were available then........ On the rig at 10psi the MTRs are almost a true 40. The reds were 37" on the rig at 10psi when I sold them.

derail...Could you notice a difference in the reds before and after slicing the tread blocks?

Thanks-built it in '08/9. Mainly just trail runs. Let me know if you want a specific shot of build-some pics of it but not many.

I can't take credit for that tire- it was my spare and came from a comp team back in the day. I remember talking with them about the said rape of the tire- Their comment was "we were sponsored and wanted to take "siping" to the next level.!! Supposedly, it improved noticeably the dry rock performance but wore much worse than normal red wear!! I also remember them talking about some extra chunking as well- midwest/west coast comps with that deal.
