Thinking about ordering some ballistic fab lower link brackets. They are are having a pretty good sale for a few days. The 22.5 degrees for the rear are out of stock, but going to see if I can purchase them on sale anyways. Anyone use them? I know ruffstuff and artec has similar style.

Re: Link tabs

Also truss is going to be square tube. Most y'all just use the flat link tabs for the uppers? I found this on ruffstuff website for the rear uppers, but afraid it may cause to much link separation at the axle, thoughts?

Re: Link tabs

I don't recommend the Ballistic axle lowers. I bought them for my Chevy 60 and they fit like ****.

We ground on them to make them fit a little better, but I still thought they looked crappy. I cut them off and ordered a set from Barnes. 100% better.

Re: Link tabs

I have got all of my stuff from Barnes.... I would recommend them to anyone.... Great parts and customer service was great if I had any questions...

Re: Link tabs

Chuck and I just put some Barnes link tabs on my new axle housing today. They have good stuff.

Thanks, I ordered all the brackets and tabs for my axles

Instead of a new thread, can y'all post up some pics of double ended ram mount options. I have a bunch of square tube and 1/4 plate. I have seen plate angled off top of truss, seems pretty easy. also thought about building something with the tube in center of axle.

Here's all I got done today, it started cooling off so I called it a day

When I replaced the front on mine I reused the truss an built new ram mount
Then bent some 11/2" tubing to make a ramp

I don't have a tubing bender, so that's out. Thats why I'm looking at coming off truss or build something out of square. I like that style tho.

I could offset my cylinder to one side and it would simplify things, not sure if my OCD would let it not be centered. Are there negative effects on the steering of offsetting the ram?

mine is offset, and was offset on the old buggy. 0 negative affects that I have ever experienced. I would say more positive than negative (only negative I know is the obvious OCD...but also that the tie rods will be at different angles when locked which MAY affect some scientific ackerman stuff...but I dont care, its on a trail digger)

Thanks, it will make it alot easier to mount and won't be blocking the diff cover so much.

exactly. it gained me almost 2 inches of uptravel and about 3 inches of approach angle by moving it where it is. It is tucked as far in as it could be...the clevis clears the diff cover by about an 1/8 inch

Patrick's buggy has an offset ram.

Makes for different steering feel left to right and a few other minor inconveniences in my book.

But if all you care about is turning your wheels, it works just fine.
