oh 120 psi wow, My Co2 is about 1500-2000 PSI and my reg goes to 400psi now that airs up a tire fast and great for setting beads.:clappy: Wich I don't have to worry about thanks to my shiney new beadlocks.

I just picked up a puma model 1006 compressor, off ebay.. Alot of guy off pirate run it and say it is the best electric compressor for the money.. it outperforms the best viar... i got rid of the little 1.5 gal tank and am going to run a 5 gal..

Well I talked to someone with a bit more knowledge then some of you meatheads and decided to try my luck at finding a York 210 compressor. Well, as luck may be I scored on one at the Lakewood pull a part. It was on a really clean Volvo that had caught fire but was only minor. So I got greasy and dirty and I now smell from sweating. Then when I finally got it out I took it up to the counter and got totally rapped on the price.


They soaked me for $17.40. :flipoff: It even works as far as powering the clutch and pumping air turning the crank by hand. I even swipped the aluminum mounting brackets.:cheer:

Here is some info on what vehicles it came on and also in that site is some info on how to tell one York from another York by IDing the crank.

Thats ok.. I got about $25 into my system and it doesn't run out.

$35 at the wrecking yard got the York, mounting brackets specific for my motor and the belts. I just run a 1gal tank, fits right under the battery on my CJ.

Ready aire compressor. Two 2.5 gallon tanks. Works pretty well.

Pros and cons with both

The bottle
pro. its portable
pro. keep it if you sell the rig
pro. nice blast of air for setting beads
con. expencive
con. its portable (easily stolen)
con. when its empty your done
con. could exlode on impact (preasurized cyl.)
con. cost money and time to get refiled
con. takes up space in the back of the rig
con. its cold

OBA.
pro. its always there on your rig
pro. you always have unlimeted air supply
pro. cheap to put together
pro. hard to steal
pro. dosent take up space in the back of your rig
pro. sets beads and runs air tools all day long.
cons. cant think of any.

In the end both methods are better than not having air. Its all in what suits your needs and if you want limited air or unlimited air

I found this http://www.dv-innovations.com/products/mf_50.htm at the Shoreline costco today $50.00.

Max working psi 120. Says it will run 40 min @40psi. Took my tire from 20 to 30 psi in about 15 seconds. Comes with a case, hose, and battery connectors. We'll have to see how it holds up. Not bad for $50.00 :redneck:

I got my York mounted in the bed and it's run by a modified SBC starter motor. Just as good of air as engine driven, but the engine doesnt have to be running. With this set up it's just like an Oasis Trailhead, so it can be mounted anywhere, but it only cost about $60 to make one like I did. (not $800 like the trailhead)

Interesting. Can you post pics of that set-up? How did you set up the pulley for the belt on the SBC starter motor? or am I on the wrong track?

Yea I am very curious how you did your set up. Pics and any info would be greatly apprecaited.
