fullsize axles with midsize body

i'm maybe considering shifting gears on projects, and instead of two money sucking vampires to work on, i'm considering taking the running gear from the LUV and putting it under the s-10, only prob, is i still want to street drive the s-10, and not look more dumb than i already do:redneck: :haha: any of you out there drive to and fro the playground with fullsize axles on your compact rig? I'm just trying to visualize how much they'll stick out of the fenders... and if it's worth cutting them down to size or not, at least a few inches, fyi, 14ff rear and dana 44 front. this way i eliminate the need for a trailer and tow rig of my second vampire and can still keep a strong wheeling rig, and maybe put my 39's on the s-10:cool: and ACTUALLY use them for once:mad:

I don't know about the goofy state of Washington but since you are in Texas at my Mom's place you should have no problems...:fawkdancesmiley: :haha:

In the PNW it is my understanding that you must 'legally' have body work that completely covers the tire including the side wall and it must cover to within a certain distance of the ground...

I'm doing this with a Ranger and will use Desert Racing Glass that I will make removable...

i'm not concerned with the "mud flap" stuff i know all about that, (on several occasions:redneck: )

i guess maybe my question is more along the lines of width for trails again. is the full size really too wide, i have neutral offset rims and the width of the axle tires and all is aroun 84" in front and 81" in the rear outside of tire to outside.... i'm jsut wondering if this is too wide for naches area stuff and whatnot... my tires already stick out quite a bit as it is, so i'm just wondering if it's going to make that big of a difference...

:mad: ugh, me so confused as to what i should do. if i should even do this or leave the dang truck alone and sell off my goodies....:booo:

except for the seats. those will go in the truck:awesomework:

More and more serious rigs are being built on 80+wide set-ups.
More and more trails are being width restricted to below 80-inches...
I'll proly be narrowing my Ranger down to 75.5" NOT because I want to but because there are trails that I have run in the day that are now restricted to 76-inches... :booo:
 
Full Size Axles?look

Hey would you drive this on the road??? i want to REEEEEEALLY BAD but not so smart of an idea. You could just follow the law and you would have top do some sort of removable fender. cheap way...order you up some semi drop down axle fenders and stick em to a reciver of some sort that mounts to the axle itself make sure it wont rattle your stereo out of its hole!! You may have heard or seen this idea in a mag a few years ago on a TACO.
