    Whats in the garage?

I'm reusing the links from the prior build, so currently sitting at 110". If I drop the uppers to the lowers and build 2 new, I can gain 2" in front and 4" in rear. Gives me something to play with in the future. Trying to get upper shock mounts in a place/angle to allow for this without...

    Whats in the garage?

Old rig left, new one with appx 4 months progress. I wanted better over hood visibility and more rear storage. Plus move rear links for rear steer. I'll get on trail drag axle first. I only sold chassis, seats, radiator, hydroboost, skins, and fuel cell. Trying to be on trail Memorial weekend.

Lets talk brakes again, and again, and again

Doing good!! Rufus Racing is getting 2 4400 cars ready for KOH. As always, between parts availability and manpower, it will come down to the last minute for them to be ready. On brakes, I searched everything I could find, from moon buggy's to bouncers, to some rally car stuff. I decided to call...

Lets talk brakes again, and again, and again

Backstory on the first build. I bought the Goatbuilt Ibex lower subframe kit, skid plates and motor mounts. Called Radflow and ordered coilovers valved for my weight and shock angles. Buggy was super neutral on throttle and brakes, loved everything about he suspension, from KOH prerunning to...

Lets talk brakes again, and again, and again

New build started Halloween weekend. I'm playing with tape shapes and drinking beer. Bottom done, skids, link mounts, rock sliders in place, engine, trans, tcase in place, axles and links back, just trying to think ahead on firewall design.

    24' Car Hauler/Equipment Trailer $7500 obo

We wanted one of those Earthroamers, spent about 6 months researching prices of used and availability. Yeah, that wasn't gonna happen. So found a new leftover 22' Thor Omni for a steal, put a 3" lift on it. It's a F550 4x4, diesel with the 10 speed auto. Has 4.88's but only 32" tires. It shifts...

    24' Car Hauler/Equipment Trailer $7500 obo

2021 Iron Bull Trailer, twin 7 k axles with brakes on both. Trailer was 83" wide but I added the extra width where the buggy sits. We would typically put our 2 dr RZR on the front and our buggy on the rear. We pulled it behind our motorhome with has an incredibly long ass so I did a spring over...

Ultra4 - Tear Down in Tennessee - AOP, South Pittsburg, TN - June 17-19, 2022

Just a heads up but the Rufus Racing team out of Dallas, Tx is in route and is a bit short handed. Zandy Willems team owner said if anybody wants to be behind the scenes, they would love any kind of help. It would prob be help in pits. They have a blue Volvo semi with a white 53' trailer, grey...

Tube notcher suggestions for home shop

I have that JD2 notcher with the Swag Goat Foot and the Reach Around. This combo allows you to really some crazy deep angle notches, just break off material part way through when using normal short hole saws. The Goat Foot helps when putting notches in bends. This notcher also holds flat stock...

Tapered lug nuts vs conical washers for high steer arms

I have a king pin Chevy 60 front with stock knuckles and high steer arms. I have the ARP studs and their tapered nuts holding them on. Obviously in future I'll move to stronger knuckles and associated arms but in the mean time, what do you think is stronger? Tapered nuts or conical washers with...

    Line Locks

On my last TJ, and mounted the ball valve at the end of the short cable coming from the parking brake. That way the stock ebrake handle moved the valve. Worked great and fooled the inspection peeps here in Texas.
