Great day at Elbe on 4/20 *Haul it out!*

I saw that too. He lost a ball joint and tried using a couple of logs as a skid. Didn't last long and he couldn't find anything else that would work in the deep snow, so he cut off the 4x4 post and sign and used it as a skid to get off the trail. He didn't see anything wrong with it.

    November 17th--Comment & Pic thread......

I had a good time. I have not been up to Reiter since probably 2004-2005. It's nice to see a government agency working with OHV users to make trails, not just giving excuses to close them down. :awesomework: That trail was decent the first time through (I think I was the only ZJ up there) but...

ZJ auto has only 1st gear

Is it really only in 1st or is it in 2nd? 2nd gear only is limp-mode. Try pulling the battery cables for a few minutes and reset the computer.

    Trailer Queens and licensing/registration

For an ispection, you need to make an appointment with your local WSP office. they will tell you where to go and when to bring it in. Bring all your receipts, etc. Make sure it is as close to street legal as possible (bumper heights, tires not sticking out, all doors on, etc). Mostly, they are...

    Trailer Queens and licensing/registration

It's not hard at all to deal with a salvage title. Just tell the insurance company you want to buy it back. Even if you don't want it, someone else probably will. ;) Just need to fix whatever's broken to make it street legal again, get it inspected, smogged and do the registration. Our trail...

    evans creek 8/5/07

    :rolleyes: Right, the PR page from the Forest Service selling the pass says so, so it must be right. :looser: Show me something a little more concrete. And if you seriously think 80% of the funds spent on forest passes for Evans Creek go back into Evans Creek, you're crazy. :;

cheapest place to buy a Warn winch?

That is the cheapest place I have found for Warn winches. Got my 9.5XP from them last fall. ;) They have free shipping and threw in a 2" reciever shackle as well. ;)

    answers about a dana44

WJ D44's are aluminum and are 5 on 5", far from bolt-in. Exploder axles only came with disc brakes 95-up. You'll probably end up paying the same for either an 8.8 with discs or an XJ D44. I'd go for the disc brakes. They are c-clipped but the discs will hold the shaft in if you do happend to...

    ZJ roll cage?

I don't recall ever seeing one for a ZJ, only XJ's. Might check on www.mallcrawlin.com to see if they know of one.

    Popo at evans

There is that sign at the staging area before 311 that states all rigs must be street legal and all drivers must be licensed. Then after the campground, there is another sign that I think states the roads beyond that point are open to any vehicle. Like I said before, we just had our meet and...

    Popo at evans

I agree with Brad, they are just enforcing rules that already exist. If you want to avoid it, take the 102 in or the back road. We had our Meet and Greet event up there a few weeks ago and AFAIK, no-one was hassled up there for anything. In case you want to know what they are probably looking...

    8.8 vs. Dana 44

My gas mileage went down a bit last week on the way to Moab as compared to last year.........but I attribute that to the extra weight of an 8.8 vs a D35. ;)
