    CB Antennea Cable Splice?

Hip, Ive seen guys use the frame, or run a copper braided "loop" through out the frame for the ground plain w/ decent results Ground wave: CB radio signals are conducted by the ground along the surface of the earth. Ground-wave signals actually can bend around buildings, over hills etc (think...

    CB Antennea Cable Splice?

Jacob, you are on top of it...you caught my "baited" question:redneck: What I meant to say/should have said about the 3 ft...is coil the excess coax at least 3ft apart as to not create a "choke", anyone who's installed a radio knows it can be hard when you got a 2ft cab and 18 ft of coax, haha I...

    CB Antennea Cable Splice?

see our edit times, there are many variables. Im no expert either but its been a daily hobby of mine since 93, both base/mobile. If your looking to talk bumper to bumper then theres no need to worry other than a decent match for the radio's sake. Anyway to each his own, spent so many hours...

    CB Antennea Cable Splice?

ok, funny how a few of my published books say so, but I guess you know best.. you seriously run 9 ft jumpers? LOL, Whats your coax, size, and volicity factor, and how its set to frequency(s)??

    CB Antennea Cable Splice?

You wont like it , but you'd be much better off starting w/ 1 peice of coax, in 3 ft increments (9-18ft will give you the best match provided you dont have a cheap truck-stop special antenna) otherwise , sure it might work...but you'll be lucky to "get out" past your front bumper. I have a few...

tuning a cb radio without swr meter

you need to find someone w/ a meter, otherwise ch20 and shoot for the highest dead key( in a meterless world on a 40ch rig) if its a fixed whip, you'll have to try and tune w/ the coax. 18' 6" is a good start and usually helps getcha in the ballpark w/ a decent match

    Looking for a CB/HAM person

thats a 10m rig and would need converted to run 11m (cb), its illegal on 11m but that dont seem to faze most people these days, any cb antenna will work after its modded for 11m hard to beat a stainless 102" whip, but a tall antenna isn't always practical for everyone either. If your sprung on...

    CB radios

no problem w/ that. Elevation is the key for how far your gonna get out...especially w/ the stock 4 watts. On my base I regularly talk from Tacoma to Marysville, depending on conditions. Skips been rollin' hard and you can talk to far away states w/ 4 watts I gave away all my spare radio's or...

    CB radios

they're not practical for wheelin'. you need to know if its hi-drive or low, if your radio has variable power (11m rigs dont)or if you need to open it up to adjust power (this isn't just a turn a pod and be done w/ it). how to set the match (SWR) and it will bleed on everything else around you...

    Rock slider exhaust.

I foresee small brush fires in the summer w/ that, stay outta the dry vegitation. reason I say is b/c I actually caught the tall grass on fire when I stopped to piss yrs back at the 116th/donna's exit , the grass just touched the header on my old 350x and w/in seconds it lit off, **** spreads...
