I ended up doing it myself, porting the box and not the cap is preferred. I think the cap is more prone to cracking on you. It wasn't bad at all, just took my time and was careful not to lose any ball bearings for the worm gear.

This is on a saginaw box, it looks like there are good reference points for where to drill, it's the disassembly and reassembly that looks a little challenging.

Did you adjust the rod on the brake booster to effectively engage the MC? The pedal shouldn't particularly hard if the booster is working properly. Did you bench-bleed the MC to make sure it was moving fluid properly? Good luck, David

Actually, that was one thing I was curious about- is there a difference whether the upper or lower end of the shackle is hard-mounted? I'd think it'd work the same either way, no? I guess it'll change the angle of the traction bar a fair amount.

On my '73, I don't recall the cap being centered like that, should be to the passenger side. I bought an ugraded rad. from Cool Cruisers, slips right into that U-shape bracket.
