I've got a 2 post atlas 10k extra tall extra wide lift. The only thing I don't like about it is the rubber pads in the lift points come loose over time and you have to search it to make sure you don't loose one by having it stuck to the bottom of a car. I've had it for around 5 years. No other...
It's kinda hard to take it seriously with ifs. I'm not trying to be a hater. I was kinda excited about it. Nothing new has done much for me in a long time other than some diesel tow rig stuff. It's just a let down.
I vote flat bed. Having had a full sized trail truck with a regular bed, it sucks trying to tie stuff down in the bed. Adding tie down points in a sheet metal bed kinda sucks. Its hard to get it not to pull the sheet metal at the tie down points. Less overhang is always better.
The harbor freight ones really work quite well after you sharpen them with a fine grit sanding pad on a die grinder. Got to not turn them to fast or it will burn them up.
I got one of the new dewalt brushless 6" grinders recently. It has loads of torque and will take 4.5 grinding wheels if needed. One thing I really like about it is the overload/brake setup. It senses rpm and will cut off if you hang it instead if it kicking back. It works well and doesn't trip...
Got to ride hells revenge if you go to Moab. Its 5 minutes outside of town. Right next to lion's back. It has hells gate and mickeys hot tub. I think its $5 entry fee.
So what's the deal with charging volunteers? I was going to help with the last event at hawk pride and not ride as sfwda had asked our club for volunteers. My rig was broken at that moment so I definitely wouldn't have been riding.
The dodge master with that setup works well on a TJ. The calipers and master cylinder sized need to be kinda matched. If I remember correctly, the 3500 version has a larger reservoir. A pressure bleeder also really helps to get all the air out.
Thank you linemen for all you do for all of us.
Sometimes the most dangerous part of the job is the drive. Unfortunately bucket trucks aren't very forgiving.
I hardly post here myself but I do enjoy reading the builds quite a bit. I will try to take the time to post more as I build stuff. I don't do facebook but I probably should for our shop. I think photobucket going pay really hurt a lot of build threads as posting pictures seems to be a lot...
I have the greg smith $475 one. We have used it weekly in our shop for over a year. I'd buy it again. The only thing I don't like about it is the plate on top only pivots in one direction.
I can't decide what I want to be when I grow up. I own a tree service and a fabrication/machine shop. I really like doing both compared to any other jobs I've had in the past.
I have one of the Milwaukee 3/8 ratchets that I use daily. I'll put it this way, if it broke today, I'd be headed over to home depot to buy another one tonight. That said, I expect it to hold up for a long time.

Another thing related to note is if you are charging an R12 system with R134a you want to use 80% of the R12 charge weight as the R134a weight. If you charge them full of R134a you will overfill the system and they won't work as well. Speaking of R12 systems, another thing of note is how to tell...
