    Boonie's Build of Debauchery

Got the wheel hubs ground down in record time and I think they turned out well. For those that have these styles of wheel hubs and want to do the Tacoma brake swap. I used a cutting disc, which I am really impressed with this brand/style, the Dewalt XP: I did all the cutting with this one...

    Boonie's Build of Debauchery

Sorry man, life happens sometimes... :wtf: Thanks for the compliments on the wheels! I love 'em! I am going to pull them apart though and have them properly balanced. The BB's weren't cutting it with so much weight that this combo carries when I test drove it.

    Boonie's Build of Debauchery

Screw you B#rdBrain! :kissmyass::redneck: So I finally got to do some work on the front axle. Put the 3rd member in, E-locker motor didn't go in, I want to make sure it's in the right position before shoving it into it's home. Got the knuckles on and Bobby's wipers installed. Gearmo showed...

    Triple stick transfercase......

I was looking at those as well, I like this one better because the "levers" are mounted below the axis along the side of the case, should be able to tuck the cases up further to the belly this way... http://www.davezoffroadperformance.com/store/triple-shifter.html

    Loose Pinion Bearing

Take the pinion and bearings to the parts store and test a new one there in front of them, with some dial calipers compare the I.D.'s. and O.D. of the pinion. I personally wouldnt want to risk a loose bearing on a new pinion. That's asking for trouble. Are these old gears? A $60 bearing is...

Solid Pinion Spacer vs. Crush Sleeve?

I have a feeling this would have happened if there was a solid spacer in there instead... :stirpot:

Solid Pinion Spacer vs. Crush Sleeve?

How did I know when I read the title that you had posted this. :D I'm curious as to what others think as well. :corn: I can see the crush sleeve being desirable as it comes with the "kit" so it's not an extra part to buy. Easier to setup essentially, you crank on the nut till it has preload...

    Boonie's Build of Debauchery

What I got done this weekend: -Assembled wheels and tires -Regeared E-Locker diff -Installed new exhaust from header back with new O2 sensors I put some BB's in each tire as per my usual balancing act. This time it took a bit longer though...freebie with the BB's! :awesomework: Almost...

    Is this enough penetration?

Even with flux wire (i'm assuming you have no gas) It looks very "pitty". Make sure your weld surface is CLEAN.

    Grinding Hardened Steel...?

I guess I maybe don't know the terminology for an abrasive stone for a die grinder... I search and only found that diamond bit I linked above and some expensive carbide bits like what karl linked. Is there a special compound or material used for hardened steel? Like what style of abrasive...
