    Ford 2.3L Won't Run???

Seems to be a common problem lately. Its been hitting a lot of the fuel injected bronco guys. Bad/old grounds between all the body parts are really messing with the computers. Ideally you want a nice ground between your battery and your ALT case, another good one between body and engine, and...

    Ford 2.3L Won't Run???

Its damn near a direct short. Starter motors are HUGE current draws, so to get that kind of current out of a 12v battery, your resistance is going to be next to nothing. Power into the B+, thru the limited amount of copper windings, and then those windings finally go to ground via the starter...

    Fleetguard oil filter

I did some quick looking, your oil bypass valve is built into the block of the engine, thats why the filter doesnt have/need one. The only thing I would be concerned with is if the block bypass valve has a different PSI rating than the filter PSI rating, Im guessing you'd want them to be the...

    Fleetguard oil filter

Looks like the older 6.5 filter does NOT have a bypass relief valve in it. The newer duramax one does. Bypass valve is a trade off between having filtered oil, and having any oil at all. If the oil is too thick to pass thru the filter easily, it bypasses. If the filter is so dirty that the oil...

    93 bronco build

thats still cheaper than a sand rail, and I can use it as a truck too. I spend a ton of time in the sand in Oregon and AZ desert. so a soft ride will be a must in the future. Just ran up forest road 7720 today and really wish I had something softer. That road is rough.

    93 bronco build

I see your washer fluid tank is broken like mine too. Same spot. Find yourself a 91 or older bronco seat, and you can ditch those shoulder harness assemblies completely. The pre-92's had the seatbeats built into the seat, and they drop right in. Thats what I did with mine. Something else you...

    bending hard brake line?

I bought this eastwood flaring tool a while back as I need to redo the entire brake system on my 53. As far as Im concerned, its worth every penny. http://www.eastwood.com/professional-brake-tubing-flaring-tool.html

    gas gauge stuck on full

usually no connection = empty, and grounding the gauge wire sends it to full. The higher the resistance, the closer to empty it gets. This way, if the tank sender fails, the gauge usually goes to empty and you get really nervous. When they fail to "full" then either the float is hung up, or...

    voltage, wiring or alternator issues?

That sounds better. The last ALT I had to wire up was a ford 3G, and it has a main charge wire, a key on wire, and then a small loopback wire that attaches to the charge post, then loops right back to the ALT on another stud. Ford's version of a "one wire alt" I guess.

    voltage, wiring or alternator issues?

take it to an autoparts store and have them test the output of the alternator. Should be about 14 volts while charging, but if it drops big time when a load is applied (such as brake lights) then the alternator is probably taking a crap. or, you have the alt wired wrong and its not putting out...

    Broken hubs

Yeah. Really, the whole outter cap. I had one fill with water and I didnt check it for like a year because the truck got parked. It ate up the wave spring and causes me all kinds of headaches for the 2 times a year I use the hubs on the superduty.

    Broken hubs

I resemble that remark. But at least mine arent auto-hubs!

    Broken hubs

Something is always the weakest link. Think of it as protection. What do you want to change the most of? But 200 dollar warn hubs after every other outing could get old fast. By the way, got any of those broken hubs laying around? I need to fix mine on the superduty. The internals are good, but...

    Superduty door handles/ thieves

You dont have to break anything. I've locked myself out several times, and used a coat hanger between the door handle and the paint. Hook and pull. If your not in a hurry, you wont even scratch the paint.

    Superduty door handles/ thieves

Been there, done that. Full alarm with remote start now. Jimmy jammers work on the slim jim attacks, but not the weak plastic door handle. I've heard of guys installing hose clamps around the plastic retainer that holds the lock cylinder. Keeps them from twisting the lock cylinder out. You can...

    Battery Charging to a trailer

Delete the break-a-way battery, and wire direct to your winch battery. Its a better battery anyway, and odds are good your break-a-way battery is toast, as they dont last long. You just dont know it yet.

    Battery Charging to a trailer

If your truck is new enough, the charge wire is already there (on a 7 pin big round connector anyway), and if you have trailer brakes and a breakaway switch on your trailer, the trailer end should be wired for charge already also. The truck *MAY* need a relay installed under the hood, along...
