    Gears

I tried but could not find any in my ratio. I would even take used spicer over anything. Spicer has the setup numbers etched into them. I hit the perfect pattern the first try by using the numbers and a chart i found in an old book. To this day that was the most picture perfect pattern ive ever...

    Gears

Ok ive noticed a trend here.... pile of broken yukons. I now have some broken yukons. They were set up as good as the gears would allow. How does one tooth break on a dana sixty? There are always at least two teeth in contact at all times. I know at least ten people who have experienced the...

    So i bought a 51 Whilly

So as things evolve, the one piece belly pan became a pain. So i cut it into three pieces and added a front oil pan portion. The first front portion kept getting bent/smashed up enough to still smash the oil pan sump. So this time i made it out of the same T1 wear plate material as the rest of...

lets talk about auto transmissions for wheeling

well i could not be happier. drove it up the road 2500 feet in elevation, trans temp got to 180 and stayed. wheeled all day. no issues at all. mind you it was only 50 degrees outside so lots of cool crisp air flowing across the huge RV cooler. we will have to wait till summer for the real test...

lets talk about auto transmissions for wheeling

So the 2800 rpm stall is installed. drove it around on the street and in my yard. i love it. best 200 dollar mod ive made. it does not drive thru the brakes and the actual stall is about 2000 to 2100.:cheer: it seems my transfer cases shift into and out of gears much easier without the slight...

lets talk about auto transmissions for wheeling

ok so i talked wit huges performance and a few other tech guys. hers what i learned: advertised stall is a range based on a big block power curve. the stalll will be less on a small block by about 700 rpm the stall will be even less on a stock v6 you are supposed to guess the required stall...

lets talk about auto transmissions for wheeling

Latest update: I ran a stock stall converter 1700-1900 range. Tended to drive thru brakes, actually caused a roll in a comp. Gonna swap to a 2600 - 2800 stall.

    ARB stops working under stress

Ok made a new fitting out of stainless, last one was brass. Its now tight. Everything works in the yard on my obstacle. Went to a local comp and sure enough it started failing. After extensive testing i removed the last ARB part, the solenoid appears to fail intermittedly. So now its comp on...
