I don't think I have any from the back - yep I reused the centers from a set of split ring wheels and machined the 10 bolt budd out of the 5 ton combat rim with a step machined in it - then just turned the same step in the split centers - bang together (0.001-0.003" press fit) and weld... Matt

What's new... Not much in willys land; the auto transmission for the crawler is supposed to be done some time this week - I took a bit of a break from the big one to finish off the stocker I have - re-built both axles, trans and t-case - motor is bare block and going to the machine shop this...

    1943 MB Tube thingy updates...

Middle of the summer I fell victim to the political infighting at the race shop... A buddy of mine had offered me a job long ago at a large marine diesel shop in ballard... So I took it and have been there for three months now... We do work for the big tankers, ferry system, cruise line...

Yea, yea, yea :hi: I did manage to get the tranny on its way to be rebuilt, pulled the mock up block from the buggy and now need to rework the front crossmember so the oil pump gilmer pully will go on and off with the motor in the chassis... otherwise there is lots of snow on it right now!

A buddy of mine used to have the salvage contract for Ft. Lewis - had about 45 - 50 dueces and 20 5 tons at one point... Now that gov. liquidators took over he no longer gets trucks... They are going away... Unless you want to pay $12k+ So the short answer is Mckenna!

    1943 MB Tube thingy updates...

Not a willys update... but oh well I decided to jump a head a little bit and got a tow rig... I plan on getting the thing up and going to use with either the XJ or the willys when it is done... More on the top secret plans as they happen; probably will start a tow rig thread - so stay tuned...

    1943 MB Tube thingy updates...

Nope - XJ is on the car lift with a bent front axle / popped the rosettes on the pass side of the diff and the tube spun and the willys is chillin under a tarp in the snow at home... (at least it better be ;) )

    1943 MB Tube thingy updates...

Down Boy! - I will try and get some more stuff up before long... I managed to mortally wound the XJ last weekend so I have to unbend the front housing and fix the tie rod issues before much happens to the willys - plus I need to find the extra driver window I stashed away - a tree tried to open...

    Custom Power Steering Hoses

They should have the stuff to make them from aeroquip blue p/s hose and reusable field fittings - thats how my stuff is plumbed (if you don't have one you will need a -6 to whatever power steering adaptor too) HTH Matt

    Torque converter stall speeds?

So the vote is stock or slightly higher stall speed - that number was with both cases in low... I don't know if braking will be any different as I will be running the ~11" vented rear discs off a mid 80's eldorado as pinion brakes on the rockwells with a double vac booster... (the booster may...

    Torque converter stall speeds?

I am wondering if to bother having a altered converted made for the AW-4 going into the Willys - I like the theory of a stardard part just for easy of getting new ones - but on the other hand my XJ is still on the factory converter from 91'... Any theories about what RPM levels work well...

Thanks Brad - I need to make some time to clean up the pump and see if I have room for it... Otherwise I got the brackets for my free accusump done and ready to weld in... I am currently on my 4th serp belt. since I have a mixture of 87' non-HO and 91/92' HO accessories + a small uncommon p/s...

    1943 MB Tube thingy updates...

Thanks for the offer - is it a pulley driven pump? - I have done most of my setup to run a pump with a PTO shaft that comes off the crank snout and then runs back under the driver floor boards - the top of the tank was planned to be the actual floor pan on the driver side... Any ideas on GPM or...

    1943 MB Tube thingy updates...

My house is inhaling what little jeep budget there was so I am stuck on buying a hydraulic pump so I can design and build the fluid tank, and then buying all the hydraulic line/propane line & fittings and wiring the thing... I still have to drag it into the shop with the overhead hoist to get...
