1 Ton Tie Rod Crossover Steering Kit
Barnes 4wd is proud to offer the best crossover steering kit on the market, complete with high quality 1 ton tie rod ends. This kit is a huge upgrade over your stock steering, bigger tie rod ends, stronger 1.5"O.D. x 1/4" wall D.O.M. and if you ever have a mishap on the trail, replacement tie rod ends are easily obtained at the nearest auto parts store (except the offset ends). All of the inserts in this kit have a machined hex, so all of your steering adjustments can be made with an open end wrench.
Here are a few of the options offered with the kit.
Standard or offset tie rod ends: The standard tie rod ends are a high quality heavy duty version of the GM 1 ton tie rod ends (part# ES2234L, ES2234R). The offset tie rods ends (part# OS2234R, OS2234L) are a great option when clearance is an issue, however most aftermarket high steer arms will not accept an offset end and a standard end in the two pre-drilled holes as they are too close together. If your drag link mounts to a high steer arm, your tie rod is still in the factory location and you need to move your tie rod forward 1" this is a good option for you.
Standard or high angle tie rod end for the pitman arm: The standard tie rod end will be the same end that is used on the tie rod (part# ES2234R) this tie rod end will not have as much misalignment as the high angle tie rod end (part# ES2026R). Since the tie rod end at the piman arm generally sees more misalignment than the rest of the steering system the high angle joint is usually the best here. The taper on the high angle tie rod end is also larger but the same angle (7° or 1.5" per ft) so you may have to ream your pitman arm deeper to accommodate this tie rod end, we offer the reamer here.
