I'm running out of room in the shop. Something has to go....

I have a '56 John Deere 420c dozer. It has the two cylinder engine. ("Johnny popper") It has ~27hp and a 6' blade. I basicly rebuild all the blade reinforcements and got rid of a cobbled up mess. I put a new hydro cylinder on it from TSC. I have the original, just bought a new one while I was out one day for ease. I also put new bolts and bushings in the mount points. The blade does not swivel side to side anymore, some jackleg welded it up so it wouldn't move. With some work and parts it could be fixed, I had no interest in it though. the steering clutches are pulling good and the drives seem to be in good shape. No leaks of any kind. It stays in my shop out of the weather. The only thing this crawler needs is the pins and bushings replaced. They are worn out. You can still do a lot of work with it, but it needs done to be 100%. These are available from Deere for about $15 each. Parts are still available through Deere and I'll give you some sites for used parts too. It has a 40 series engine so parts will work off those tractors.

This is perfect for small jobs around the house, farm or hunting club. It'll go anywhere. The blade is just right for atv trails at your hunting land. You aren't gonna push over any large trees, but for the average brush work, grading drives, and whatever else you can think of, it's perfect. This machine has surprised me with what it will do time and time again.

The thing runs like new, doesn't smoke or use any oil. I'm sure at some point it has had a rebuild done, just don't know when. I have a full service manual for it. Shows you how to take every last bolt out and put it back together again. (perfect for restoration )

This machine with the blade weighs in at about 6,000lbs. So, you can pull it on a regular 16' dual axle "car hauler". That's what I pulled it home on. I didn't even warp the ramps when I loaded/unloaded it. If needed, I'll deliver it for $1.00/loaded mile. (within reasonable distance)
