Hey hello folks I am wondering about good ways to get more power on my 1997 tj wrangler with 4.0L. I have a four inch lift and 33s would like to go 36 but I drive the vehicle instead of trailering it. Low end power is good but pulling hills on the pavement it really lags. what do you think.

Regear the diffs....But wait til you figure out just what tires will ultimately be on the rig before shelling out the dough...

Not sure were walker is and I am currently in Afghanistan But many be interested when I get home. I live in graham. is that close I have been to Elby hills I love it.

4.56's with 33's made mine much more driveable, esp in hilly areas at speed.
better drivability and milage than stock!

if going 36's, dont worry about it, just make sure you new axles come with the right ratio....

Really depends on how he wheels it. Weekend forest road romper....stock axles are fine. Start to hit some trails and that 35 will go BOOOOOOM!!

If you put a 36" or bigger tire. 5+ years on 35's light to heavy wheeling two diffrent rigs, does fine. had 36 buckshots and broke axels daily.
