1998 GMC Jimmy
Started its life as an IFS truck. I cut all that out built the crossmember and hangers. 48" leafs up front. 58" leafs in the rear. 14" travel shocks front and rear. Dana 44s front and rear. All new bearings, calibers, rotors, up front. The front is out of a wagoneer and has been geared 4.56 with Yukon gears and locked with a Yukon spool. It has Yukon 4340 chromoly shafts and Warn lock out hubs. I used an astrovan steering box for different pitman arm location with an XJ factory pitman arm and ruffstuffs 1 ton y link. The rear 44 was already geared 4.56 and I installed an Aussie locker. I built the front and rear bumpers. Rear has a tire carrier. 5 matching 6 lug wheels 15x10 with 5 matching 35x12.50x15 Maxxis Bighorns. 4 doors only come automatic. I prefer manual so I swapped it to an NV3500 5 speed with center console and had it tuned for the transmission. Looks like it came from factory that way. I installed a 231 transfer case that I built with a jeep output shaft so I could run a factory TJ front driveshaft and used the factory rear Jimmy driveshaft. So driveshafts wouldn't be hard to find. I built it to have fun on the weekends and drive around town when I was home.
