I think I've only ever seen one other regular cab single wheel Duramax truck.

kind of a rare bird.

Agreed on it being a rare bird. If it was only a manual trans truck (not sure if a manual trans was ever an option in the cat-eye body style or not) it would be a super duper rare bird.

In 2004 (right when I graduated highschool), I was going to buy a new truck (dumb!)
I test drove a white BASE model (rubber mat, crank window) 04 reg cab long bed 2500 Duramax-6 spd manual 4wd truck. window sticker was right under $30K.

from what I understand, manual trans trucks were de-tuned to "commercial engine" specs, and were only like 250 hp or something.

Sold my '05 regular cab Duramax three years ago to my bro-in law with 279,000 miles on it, and he's been driving it daily ever since. Best truck I ever had. GLWS
