After much debate and a few half-hearted attempts to sell this, my friend - Dave Lay - is finally willing to let it go. He has decided to buy some land and focus more on expo-type wheeling in his FJ60 LandCruiser. It kills him to see this sit for 360 days a year, and he'd like for it to have a good, new home. He has asked me to post up on the forums I frequent.

Up for sale is one of the nicest Rubi TJs on the market. One of the most remarkable features is that this Jeep has less than 2,000 miles on the odometer. Yes, 2,000 miles! It was stolen off the dealer's lot when brand new. It was bought back from the insurance company by the original owner after it was recovered, and all paperwork documenting this will be included in the sale. The ***le is clean and clear, and the Jeep is licensed and insured. Dave told me many times that this was to be the Jeep he would keep forever, and it shows in the way he took care of it and the upgrades he made.

First, the bad:
  • - No e-brake. This is easily remedied with a different caliper for the rear axle, or a transfer case brake on the Atlas, or a line lock. Many ways to fix that easily and fairly inexpensively if this is a concern to you.
  • - Fuel gauge is not connected to sending unit in fuel cell. Dave just never messed with it. I would think this is just some simple wiring that needs to be done to make it work.
  • - Windshield frame has a few scars. Dave is including a new windshield frame and windshield with the sale. I believe it is the same color white, but I will check to make sure.

All of these "issues" are very minor in my opinion, but Dave wanted to make sure any potential buyers were aware of everything.

This Jeep was professionally built and is lacking nothing! It does exceptionally well. With a capable driver, it will go anywhere you have the nerve to steer it. I can attest to this!

The Jeep drives amazingly well, even considering it is on 43" SXs. Dave drove it all over Moab without any trouble - to and from the trails. However, Dave says he wouldn't recommend it to be a daily driver, unless you put on a more streetable set of tires and maybe TREs.

Willing to deliver a reasonable distance for the cost of diesel. Can email a VIN if needed for a CarFax or whatever.

I am not sure, but when this sells, Dave may be selling a really sweet car hauler trailer, too. I'll try to get confirmation on this.
