2004 Yamaha Rhino 660 Long Travel Build

I'd be okay with replacing it if it wasn't for the fact that I believe the walls were put up around the tub/shower unit. No way to fit it through the door and make the turn down the hallway. I think my best option would be to cut the old one to pieces and just put in a new tub, then tile up the walls to make the shower portion. Sorry for the derail but in my defense, you started it. Lol
Edit* Just got to looking and they actually make ones where the tub and wall portions are separate pieces. That would probably work.

I love a good thread derail.
 
Unfortunately, I haven't made any progress in a while because most of my project funds and time have gone into setting up my new shop. I'll post shop updates later (for anyone that might care). The only real update is a set of new wheels and tires. I got a ridiculous deal on a set of new 12x10 Method 406 beadlocks that I got for $22 each. (Retail is $229 each). They're a little (okay a lot) wider than I would have liked, but for that price I like them just fine.

I'm impatient and couldn't wait to see what this would look like so on went the spare 26x11. It looks ridiculous and I love it. I have a set of 27x10x12 Bighorn knockoffs on order and will have them mounted this week so of course I'll post pics of those.

Got the tires mounted and kinda bolted up this week (new lugnuts are on the way). The 27x10 tire size looks perfect on this rig, even with the wider wheels

Nothing quite brings back motivation (and temptations for financial irresponsibility) for a project like new tires and wheels.

That's a perfect quote for this forum/hobby.
 
After a week of the new tires and wheels I realized I liked them...because they were cheap. I threw them up on FB to at least get my money back and ended up selling them for $850 :JRich: (had $520 in them). I settled on a set of 14x7 System3 SB-3 wheels on 27x11 Wanda tires. This allowed me to ditch my wheel spacers and have a MUCH larger tire selection (even though I still went with the China cheepies).

I got a text last week that our riding group was going to my favorite town at one of my favorite parks: Boggin on the Plains (formerly Great American Park), so I've decided to zip tie this thing together enough to go wheeling this weekend. Prep started Sunday night to get the essentials in order.
 
This past week I put a power steering kit on mine and bolted the inner CVs in the Diff because the square clips didn't hold them in. Got me wondering if you rode yours at GAP.
 
I did take it to the GAP and it was a successful trip.

Before the trip, the oil was changed, skids bolted back on, electric fuel pump sorta installed (more on that later), cooling system bled, added enough welds to the cage to make me happy and oil added to both diffs.

Ever since I've had this unit it takes 15s of cranking for the vacuum fuel pump to regain prime if it's sat for more than a day. Once running, it always seemed to do fine. There is a lot of documentation about adding primer bulbs and even electric fuel pumps to these units and I decided to swap to a Mr Gasket fuel pump and replace the vacuum pump all together. This is a 2-3psi pump mounted in place of the vacuum unit - nothing special. The difference was dramatic! Fuel delivery was improved all around, from starting to running.

I have a few sticks of tube to finish up the cage and doors in the coming weeks. I'll keep this updated when I get back to work on this in the coming weeks.
 
Appreciate the update man. Maybe I wasn't being that serious about selling Ranger to fund Rhino build, but it's a dang cool Rhino and I've enjoyed keeping up on it.
