Im in florida and have a esab 250 handles 30lb spool of wire eccepts a tig box if you had one. Welds 1/2 inch plate in single
Pass no problem. I run .035 dia wire always. I have had it for 3yrs with moderate use doing dual exhaust jobs and things like that at my shop. Im looking to upgrade some if my equipment to further better my business is thie only reason for letting go. I also have a smaller 90/140 amp welder as well.$800 and 400 or 1k for pair

A lot of factories run Esab. I wouldn't be scared of one at all .

I would suggest a MillerMatic 250 amp machine. Get a machine that takes a 44lb roll also since all welding supplie stock them. Also pay attention to the duty cycle. The higher the better
Alot of the ESAB are ok but most has a 60%, or around this, duty cycle.

On another note the ESAB that is mentioned above. You are doing one heck of a weave and fill running 0.35 wire on 1/2 plate to fill in one pass. You can make any machine do it but without a good duty cycle it will poop out early.
