22r Timing chain

You don't have to--but be VERY carefull and pay close attention to where the timing cover mates to the head..

Ok good. It hasen't been back together to long and I didn't want to pull the stupid head again. Now I wish I had just replaced the stupid chain, guides, and tensioner when it was first apart. Oh well.

you either pull the head or the pan, unless you are a talented mother. to me it's worth the added 20 minutes of work to not chance folding the head gasket.

x2, I have done it without pulling either of them off with no issues afterwards, but usually I do an oil change at the same time, so pulling the pan off and cleaning it out isn't abig deal.

Just don't forget the hidden bolt in the head.

I have done a # without pulling pan/head. Just be very carefull also when you tighten down the hiddin bolt--had one pop the casting on the cover.. Doh.
