i just got a free boat its a older one and my buddy that gave it to me said it was a 4clyder chevy motor. anyone know anything about these?

yea, Mercruiser 4 cyls. I had one for a while. it was ran in salt water and not rinsed correctly so the manifolds rusted out from the inside. Hard to track decent price parts for in this area, but I almost had a new engine shipped in after hurricane Katrina. they scrapped just about every boat out there. and there was a bunch of low-hour engines available. Just about that time the wife got preggers :wtf: so away went the boat (for $300 more than I paid for it

By the way, I believe the design is the same as the engine used in the Fiero, which is a (near) clone to the old iron duke engines used in the real early Jeeps. so your boat has a history in wheeling!

Same bolt pattern as the Iron Duke used til late '83 (never got put into an XJ) Same bell pattern as smallblock Chev (and 4.3L V6)
