4 speed shifter boot?

Anybody ever try to seal up the shifter on a np435 or similar 4 speed?

I'm imagining a really short shock boot you could put on with a couple of hose clamps.

The worst part about wheeling a 435 is the gear oil pouring out the shifter when you go shiny side down, it would be sweet to seal that up somehow and vent the case another way.

Thoughts?

I have a t18 that i plan to do the same thing on. Just take a shock boot with a plastic or metal washer glue it to the end with the lip, drill a hole for the shift, and hose clamp on the other end.

shifter base is the vent on a lot of manual trans, no seperate vent to hook a hose too
