460 problem

I am looking at buying a f250 with 460 that has overheated because of the water pump going out, the water pump has been replaced and the truck starts but is running rough and if you pull off the pvc vavle you can feel allot of pulsating air flow, the oil looks fine as does the coolant in the radiator.
could the heads be cracked? rings toasted or just a bad head gasket?

The "pulsating air" is blow bye at the rings. The running rough could be anything from spark plugs to cracked head.

Holed piston. Hot=detination. Do a compression check.

Yeah, and a leak down test. That should tell you everything. Does it run hot now?
