I am having an issue trying to find out the right way to adjust the valves on my 302. I have heard adjust them like a chevy, that didn't work. Tried tighting them down to spec, and that didn't work...the stud is stepped, if that means anything. Anyone have any ideas?

Yup....If the stud is stepped tighten it down until the nut bottoms out on the step. May need to do it while running if the lifters are pumped up.

That or torque slowly on each one til the spec is reached, then let it sit for a while till the lifters bleed off...

Thanks, I have been fitting with this for a while and I have heard about 10 different ways of doing it. I will try this method tonight after I get some new rocker nuts put on it and let y'all know how it worked when I'm done.
