Done the math on ring and pinion which shows 2.80. Not sure if that's accurate?

Numbers on side of ring and pinion show 8 x 35???

Should be 4.10 gears. That's what a huge majority of those axles have.

well 8x35=280

8x35 is stamped on the ring gear.

i also counted the teeth on both.

if you are going to change to a different gear set what does it matter.

i have a 85 rear with 4.10s but i have not decide if i want to hang on to it or sell it too.

Unfortunately bc these are the narrow rear ends, locally they aren't bringing very much $$$. $75 at most here....
