Any one done it @ home? I was thinking of machining some adapters(I have access to a mill and lathe) to bolt up a front spindle/hub ass. from a front axle and then just having axles made. I'm not sure what to use, I need a 5 on 5 1/2 pattern so I don't know if I can use D60 parts or not. Any input would be great.

I used a junkyard FF D60 rear for the parts I needed + new tubes + junkyard 9" housing.

The spindles needed to be bored out but all other parts are cheap and off the shelf from any auto parts store.

You will need to make or buy adapters for the 5 lug.

How did U mate the D60 housing ends to the new tubes? Did they slip IN or slip ON? How much insert or oversert:redneck: did U have to keep them aligned right?:corn:

I believe the tubes were machined so that the spindle would slip in...not sure about overlap...the more the merrier.

Yep, you need something to keep the entire assembly aligned
