98 12 valve with a auto

I like chicken. :fawkdancesmiley:

if the trans isnt up to temp it wont go into OD. heres the wiring pinout from the PCM,you can check the OD related wires and make sure they arent broke and ****.looks like the PCM controlls the switch..i know it may sound silly but unhook both batterys and clean the terminals...these trucks are picky with that for some reason... doing that has fixed a few for me..

It goes into OD without any problems. The button on the end of the shifter doesn't work to turn it off or take it out. I'll check that stuff thank you. :awesomework:

Does it matter that its a 12V? The diagrams you linked to have lots of fuel injection wiring, which the 98 12V does not.

Maybe the tranny wiring is the same, but I dont know.

The 98 12V is kinda an oddball 6 month truck. Its a mechanical diesel, with the electronic tranny that came in the 24V trucks.

So I got the od button working now, my next project is the cruise control. I can turn it on and get the cruise light on the dash but it doesn't set. Any ideas where to look?

some where between the vaccume pump, and every thing else. it is a small vaccume circuit. it may also be a weak vaccume pump. if you put a gauge on it it should make almost 30" almost instantly, and should hold vac for atleast 10 min after shut down.
