Been wanting to check this casino out, as it is closer to me (3 hr drive) than the Philadelphia or Tunica MS. Read some bad Google reviews on the place AFTER I just booked a room to go during Christmas break. I love Philadelphia MS personally, but want to check this one out since it's closer. If it's great, I'll make more trips there....if it sucks, I will just continue going to Philadelphia.

In Murphy? Or Cherokee? I was under the impression that the one in Murphy was fairly new.

The one in Cherokee got a major makeover I believe. Sounds like that's the one you went to. Think it used to be digital gaming only and now they have all the table games. I'm a table game man, not big on slots or video poker.

Yes, I'm sorry you are m correct it was in Cherokee.

Think this one opened this year sometime. Still reading not so good reviews on it being small, lacking restaurants, lacking certain games compared to others, etc.

I've spent a lot of time in cherokee but haven't been in two years. The casino is pretty lame

Last time I went to Cherokee, the games were all electronic, but they had a big-pot hold 'em tournament going and they were giving drinks away. We went to see Rodney Carrington but just ended up gambling all night. I think Cherokee is only an hour or so from me if I go the interstate. Through the park it's like 17 hours with all the leaf lookers.

Re:

I dont think they serve free booze up there dang it. Looks like we gonna change the trip back to Philadelphia. The one in Murphy is described as a day trip casino. All they got is a food court, no gourmet restaurants or buffets. 1/3 of the gaming that Cherokee has. Fawk that, rather not waste my time. Back to Mississippi!

Re:

My uncle just had a dam good run at the Murphy one about 2 weeks ago I have not been to Cherokee sence the remodel but it was lame before

Re:

I live 30 minutes from the Cherokee casino haven't been in since they redid it but they redid everything, why not drive a little farther and hit up Cherokee. Murphy is an hour from there ruffly. The Murphy casino is a "test" to see if it would be viable to see if it would be worth putting up one similar in size to cherokee

Read too many bad reviews about the one in Murphy. Its small, no restaurants besides a food court, and dont think they serve free booze, so I cancelled our reservations there and booked one at Philadelphia. I get free rooms there, $25 meal credit, and $75 blackjack chips there, so that's a win/win.

Man when we used to go to Tellico years ago it was a dry county, and now they have a casino??? and no wheelin'?? Damn...

I am from Sylva, about 15 minutes away from Harrah's in Cherokee. The casino sucks. Period. Its full of old blue hairs and there no live gaming. Save your money and go do something else. :****:

I believe there are table games there now. Think it got a facelift recently.
