Anyone on here been to Silverwood Themepark?

Looking for comments on the themepark in Idaho called Silverwood?

yeah, get really trashed and go on the coaster a half a dozen times back to back

camp at the campground its cheap, and go out towards the highway for breakfast on the right hand side of the road is an excellent rustic looking building that serves amazing breakfasts and market spice tea by the pot!

I have been there many times, including just last week. It's definitely a fun place, especially with kids. To me the main attractions are the water park and the two big wooden roller coasters that are an absolute blast (one of them is rated like #4 in the country or something like that). You can get discount tickets at Costco.

I've never been there... always assumed it was more or less the same setting as WILDWAVES, but none the less... were heading that way soon.
so i thought i'd get some reviews from users....

If you're anything but white i would suggest not going:haha: seriously though i've heard it is a very racist area..i could be wrong, but this is what i have heard from a majority of people.. my co-worker decided not to go due to his/his fiance' asian decent:booo: sucks that people are detered by this sort of garbage.

Uhm, that might have been ten or fifteen years ago. Most of the militants have moved on. They lost their compound in a court battle and it got bulldozed, their leader kicked the bucket, and the center of the group moved to the South. There are human rights coalitions all over the place. There is a Japanese college in Spokane. My wife is Asian, I'd take her to Silverwood in a heartbeat, and have...except she fainted getting onto Tremors...we spent the rest of the day at the waterpark, which is awesome, and that was before the expansion.

I have no problems with someones personal feelings or beliefs, as long as they don't effect me.

Silverwood puts Wildwaves to shame. It's not even a contest. I would much rather drive the 300 miles to Silverwood than 40 miles to Wildwaves.

ok, ya, i thought i'd at least make mention of it, cus some people migt want to know:; I personally don't care if they're there or not, they aren't going to stop me from doing something, unless it endangers me or my family...

This is absolute BS. Pure ignorance. The region was never predominantly racist. The media has wildly exaggerrated the activities of a very small group of people in the area. Maybe we should all judge the off road community by how it is usually portrayed in the media, too...

At any rate, there is usually a diverse crowd at Silverwood. Whites, blacks, latinos, asiains, etc.

thats how it's been appearing to us...

the drive there to us, is part of the trip, the scenic sites... the new settings the old towns have changed into, the whole entire trip sounds really enjoyable, and then the end to arrive at a decent themepark just makes it great.

we just got back from DisneyLand, it was ok... the kids loved it.

but this time it's more about family, not being huddled into a plane and wisked off to L.A. this time i'm driving, i can stop, i can turn around, i can choose, i have options... but i hope it isn't the same as Wildwaves.

you can find discount tickets at a lot of places around there. we were there during the week, it was crowded, but not too bad. nothing like disneyland. if its really hot the waterpark lines will be kinda long.. but they move pretty fast. i dont think we ever spend more than 15 min in a line for one of the waterslides. and the lines for the regular rides arent bad at all except for sometimes the 2 big roller coaster lines can get pretty long.

food prices were very decent. i was surprised. lots of variety too. there's a restaurant on main street, in the park, called lindy's that is really good too.

gift shop prices were decent too. and theres quite a few of them

I think 3 days might be a bit much for Silverwood. 2 days would be plenty. We go often enough that 1 day is enough for us.

You could plan for 3 days and if you have had enough after 2 could always spend the 3rd jet skiing on lake Coeur d' Alene or something.

Thank You for sharing... after this summers Disnelyland vacation - lines at the grocery store seem like a joy now!

I was thinking the same.... but we got kids... and 3 days there might be a blast for them... if it gets boring, we can always head out and travel around / check out other things on the way back home.
