Anyone stream video on there TV?

Just picked up one of those Roku boxes after my Xbox took a ****. Does anyone use one or something like it? Trying to find some more "apps" to use with it.

If you have one how do you like it so far?

i have an old laptop with a dead screen hooked to mine. I stream Hulu or the other network shows that hulu doesn't have.

Yeah the wife and I have pretty much gotten rid of cable all-together. Strictly watch online now. We already have netflix and hulu plus, as well as Pandora and all the other free apps.

I want to go this route too, cable is just too damn expensive. What is the best way to go for hardware: PC, XBOX, Roku??

Can still do live streaming video: sports, news, etc?

I don't have cable and use a PS3 for all my TV watching. It does Netflix and Hulu. Has a video purchase/rental service with all the new releases. Plays Bluray (high def) DVDs. I can also use it to stream music and movies to my TV that I have stored on my desktop computer. Of course it also plays video games. The hard drive is also very easy to upgrade so mine has 320gb of memory. The only downside is the web browser on it is not that great, but for what it does and how much it costs I think it's the best way to go.

I have found for live streaming of sports and games from websites like ESPN does not work well due to the poor web browser so for that stuff I just plug my laptop into the TV. I guess technically using a good laptop with a bluray drive is probably the best way to go, but it is also pretty expensive.

PC and XBOX are networked to my 55". 2 TB of movies in Bluray or 1080p on PC. Netflix and Hulu.:awesomework: Barely watch TV.

I looked into this last summer, Cable was raping us and wouldn't give us any of the new customer discounts.

My problem I ran into was sports, I couldn't find a reliable way to stream live sporting events.

Have any of you found a reliable solution? I don't mind paying a small monthly fee for an app that would allow me to stream the sports live but I failed to find anything when I looked into it before.

this is all I really care about...other than that you can get any network shows on the web the next day anyways.

We have an ant. and digital box for local tv... Other than that we use netflix or hulu... Every once in a while, we'll get a new release from redbox...

Have you been able to watch regular Hulu on it or do you have to use Hulu Plus like you do on the Xbox???

I have been wondering about this. My brother is borrowing my kids wii and has it hooked up with net flix. How do you get teh internets without comcast?

espn3.com isn't bad...but then again, espn has to be covering it. cbs did a good job of covering march madness.

another thing you can do is get a slingbox and put it on a friends/family members cable line. It will stream their cable across the net to your PC/phone/tv/ipad/etc. Not expensive and good quality.
