The girlfriend's father passed away last weekend and they've been dividing all his stuff up and deciding what to do with it. They have these two cars amongst other random vehicles, but I'm not sure if the Galaxys are worth anything or not. Both are emblemed Galaxy 500, no idea of model, one hardtop, one convertible. Weathered pretty good, but straight body with a little rust here and there. If they ain't worth ****, they'll just be scrapped probably. Edit: They are not for sale yet and may not be, just trying to figure value for my gf and her sister.

Re:

Lol just kinda wanting to know if they are worth anything and if so, how much to ask. The convertible is now my gf's and the hardtop is her sister's. Not sure if her sister is gonna sell the hardtop or not, she mentioned it being centimental, but i know they'll never do **** with it but let it sit and rot.

Re:

How complete are they? Any idea when they were last on the road?

They aren't gonna bring a ton, but scrap is so low that it wouldn't be worth the fuel to take them to the yard. I'd personally make a better offer than scrap prices and it'd keep you from dealing with them.

Re:

Chad done texted and interested in them too. I will talk to them and see. They have a lot going on, I'm just trying to help them get rid of what needs to be sold. I will talk to Casie and report back if they are ready to get rid of them.

They been sitting a long time, not sure when they were last drove. Don't really know that much about them. They been in the same spot for the 2 years we been together. The convertible is in a little worse shape inside, but the hard top looks surprisingly decent inside. Seats and dash look really good.

Got one door open, dash pad is warped up pretty bad, but the rest isn't in terrible shape.

Also gonna clean her 2000 Durango up and sell it. 5.9L 4wd 200k miles, good tires, a/c dont work. Leaky output shaft seal on t case, other than that, ran good when she was still driving it daily about a year ago.

Depends on the motors that are in em too, id love to have the hard top, same thing as a fairlane, if theyre big block cars the value would go up, gotta love barn finds

Where are you located and throw a number out for the hardtop
Right now, I'm just trying to find out what they are worth so I can let the gf and her sister know. If her sis isn't willing to depart with the hard top, it won't be available. I'm pretty sure my gf will want to get rid of the convertible though. She agrees with me that it's pointless to keep. If they become available for sale for sure, I will post back up. They are still dealing with the loss of their daddy and having to manage the farm themselves now, so I'm not trying to push them into a decision on the cars right now til things kinda settle a bit.

I'd be be very interested in that Durango for the right price...feel free to pm me when you figure out how much :****: :dblthumb:

You are second in line for it. Will let you know if first deal falls through.

I didn't raise the hood, but she said her dad said they had the "big motor" in em, so I wouldn't be surprised if both were big blocks. They been passed down their family through a couple generations. She said they probably ran and drove last somewhere around 13ish years ago.

Ah. Makes me miss my first classic. Dad used to flip houses. Somebody left a 67 galaxy 500 under a car cover in the yard of one. I drove over with a buddy, hot wired it and drove it home. That was my weekend cruiser senior year of high school. Not to mention bench seat front and rear was a huge WIN.

If that convertible has a matching number big block yes it will bring some good money. I've seen fully restored go for some serious money Even the hard top with a big block will do well.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

They both look to be 1966. Not sure on your location but put me inline for the hard top. Also how bad of shape is convertible ? I will pm you my number thanks Dan

I think I understand what you are asking and wanting to do.

Whatever you do, don't for a second think of scrapping these machines. Even if they seem like junk, they have tons of good usable OE parts that don't exist anymore.
