It isn't about hunting. As I have said before, we are meant to have the same arms as the military, no matter how dreadful that may seem. History has proven that a monopoly of force by the state always ends bad. Genocide bad.

Thanks. I was hoping that was the case. What is nice is that if you select remember me at the bottom you never have to fill in all the fields again.

A lot of people think we dodged a bullet today, and thats fine, but now is not the time to let up. We need to push our message harder than ever, and make sure Congress does'nt pass any kind of bans on so called "assault weapons", and or magazine capacity, and or registration "laws".

Indeed. We only dodged the "executive order" bullet... which I wasn't too worried about, anyway. His power is pretty limited, and for this very reason. There is still the Congressional bullet to deal with... and that bullet is more likely to find its target.

so you have a very large very well trained group of people who have pledged to fight/defend/die for our country/constitution, wouldnt want to let them carry weapons now would you? you know why? their leadership is GARBAGE. the leadership in todays military makes such questionable calls that they feel the need to disarm soldiers when they are on post.

I don't think it will, the AWB cost the Democrats the mid-term elections when Clinton was in office, and Clinton has been reminding everyone of it lately. There will probably be a watered down bill with background checks and such, but a weapons ban won't get any votes for at least two years, if the Dems take the house in 2014 then you can start to worry.

When someone (or some group) comes along with enough force to make "their rights" the law over "your rights", then you no longer have rights. I dont care who you think gave them to you, the new group took them away. Your god itself is not going to come down from the heavens and tell the new powers in charge that they were naughty and should give you your rights back.

Bottom line is, laws (and rights) are created by man, and can be taken away by man. Its all about who has the bigger stick!
