Birfield

I still have no idea what the "berfeild" thing is......

A year or so ago I had no idea who or what a Berfield was either turns out it is a CV joint designed by Frank Rzeppa in 1929 sold to the Japanese by Hardly Spicer in the early 1950,s

You spent $500 on parts and you have no ****ing clue what your doing??

You are awesome:awesomework: Keep up the good work and when you figure out you have no idea what your doing, call you toyota engineer's in Japan and ask them how Jeep built there tranny's. Then reverse engineer it and put a sticker on it for added horse power. Oh don't forget a reverse manual valve body and jegs shift kit. Then make sure you build a strap for the drive shaft so it doesn't bust your ****. Have fun :redneck:

Why not just run loose lug nuts???? When your lugs shear off, you dont even have to crawl under your rig!!Just carry a spare hub assy with rotor attached and you're good!:awesomework:

Yea Crash I like doughnuts... Just not as much as you "love" livestock.. :flipoff:

You guys missed it completely. Ol' twigs & berries admitted to only dealing with birfields and knowing what they are for about a year. Smells like a newbie that got all excited and started trying to find all the info and headed down the wrong road ending up lost.

Not that the complete disregaurd for our application having a profound effect on parts and how long they last matters eh? I mean sheesh who'd have thought that putting 120 lbs worth of 40" tire would have a negative effect on the lifespan of the little trunion bearings and birfs designed for 27" tall tires weighing under 50lbs... Must be the grease we're using eh? :haha:

" tute ...... floot " :haha:

oh dear god, see what this thread has caused? The brain damage is spreading.

:hi:

Big tires and a locker are what killed my birfs? Sounds like a bunch of Liberal bull**** to me. Had you been running specially formulated knuckle spuzz you could have run 54's for 30yrs on a factory front end. Pay attention dammit!

Oh ps on a side note,

Yesterday I was taking off the IFS steering box. Well I stuck the pickle fork up to the joint on the arm, gave it a good wack, anyone wanna guess what oozed out of that factory sealed joint?

Semi fluid grease :haha::haha:

I just thought I'd toss that out there.

:hi:

seminal fluid??

werd thats what I have in my balls...

Ya know unlike many you twigs & berries we base our findings and data off real world experience. A book can tell you how something operates but not much else. It takes real world hands on stuff to know what you're talking about. You obviously lack that but are pretty book smart I guess...
