Big Trucks And Big Tires

This thread is to share your pics (not cut/paste web pics). If you have been on the trail, at a show, maybe walmart and seen a big (40+tires) truck, post up the pics.

Too many folks think big trucks have no place in the 4x4 world and are dead. I dissagree, we all owe it to big truck for the evolution of this sport to its current state. It was only about five years ago that every magazine always had a bright red/yellow/blue chev, ford, dodge with 40s or bigger each month on the cover. I miss those days.

Clearly you have no ability to understand what others are trying to convey. Maybee some pics of one of those trucks on rhinoland work work better for you, As the sport has progressed away from small dicks to large balls.

You and binder seem to be the closed minded ones. You guys are trying to convey that eveybody should wheel a buggy and **** everything else.

I have a mudder, a wheeler, a buggy, and a ton of other **** with engines. I like everything buggys, trucks, cars, etc.

I doubt any of the trucks pictured are the only rig the owner has.

Well i will give you one thing...Those guys with big useless trucks have made interco come out with some big rubber...They are still lame though. Kinda like having a R1 and never feeling it burnout as yer doing a wheelie in 2nd.

I used to be into Mazda RX-7s, and a lot of people on those forums were so "**** piston engines" and "screw Mustangs" that it was nuts. I have an appreciation for everything in a certain way. Even though it may not be my cup of tea completely (like a riced out Honda), I can still find little things I like about it usually. For instance, that "POS Mustang" may need WAY more engine work to be as fast as my RX-7 was, but hey, it still sounds cool as hell at an idle with that cam and exhaust. Or, my girlfriends Dads terminator isnt my dream car, and I wouldnt ever go out with the intention of buying one, but I can still respect it as a great piece of engineering. Hell, some of the cool tricks Ive seen for accomplishing tasks have been crossed from other "genres" of automotive building. No real point to this post, just my two cents :D

Ive thought about building something like that once or twice, I just love getting into something new simply for the learning aspect of things. Hell, half my OBA setup is parts sourced from minitruck airbag systems anyway. Thats a perfect example of what I meant earlier about learning tricks from other genres. I probably never would have known of some of the valves, pressure switches, parts supplier websites, etc available had I not broadened my horizons and looked into those trucks at one point. Then again, who are we to define what an auto enthusiast is? :flipoff:

I see your point and agree to an extent. I just like big rigs! Thats what got me into this sport, and I have evolved with it.

I guess bagged bagged minis have one benefit over big trucks. they are pretty useless to begin with :haha: the only thing my S10 was good for was hauling minimal tools and getting good MPG's which is can still do both. My F350 on teh other hand is pretty much useless and if I cant get rid of it I'm going to try and bring it back down to a useful height.
