January 3, 2009-Washington, DC-Bigelow Motorsports and The Rock Batteries have partnered together for the 2009 race season to meet the teams electrical needs for racing in the King of the Hammers and XRRA racing formats. Bigelow Motorsports owner and driver Doug Bigelow is looking forward to installing the new 1228 Rock Racing battery into their newly built racer by Appalachian Offroad. "We have been looking for the ultimate in electrical reliabilty and we believe we have found it with "The Rock Batteries", said Bigelow. "The demands of the toughest point to point race in the country with the King of the Hammers race and short course fast rock racing in XRRA takes a huge demand on the vehicles battery. We looked around at other racing bodies and we wanted to partner with who other pro drivers partner with and when names like Robby Gordon and Warren Johnson use the product, you can bet it performs" Bigelow also chimed in.
Long a speed secret among top professional racing teams has been the Rock Racing Battery. The 12 volt 1236 and 1257 batteries were first utilized in drag racing and within the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
