I think there's a couple of guys on here that work in the body shop biz so I am looking for a rough idea of cost to fix a 2010 caddy sub that my son tagged the corner of. I think the shop the guy is using is wringing me for repairs

That's an easy grand right there. Probably more, depending on the quality of repair, and if anything is bent behind the bumper cover and if the quarter got tweaked.

****, when I was thinking about getting my Cougar painted just the paint in the color I picked was $1,100 a gallon.... for paint. **** that.

Easily over $1000. I am not a body shop guy, but I know people who have gotten similar damage and it is surprising how much it adds up to.

I've sent hundreds of cars to body shops for bumper repairs.

If you use a dealer bumper repair guy, expect to pay 200 to 300 for the bumper, plus the replacement lens.

If you go to a body shop, expect to pay 1000, and, up to 3000 if it's a 'pearl' or 'metallic' white paint, and even more, if the trunk sheet metal edge (the metal the supports the bumper) is bent.

Also.... this is why he's got insurance. So. I'd just let them deal with it, and he's only out the deductible.
