I am welding some 1/8" x 1/2" strap to my beadlocks as an anti-coning ring. I have the strap...but would like to actually have a nice ring.

I can give it a decent hand form and then stitch weld a tighter pattern while forming it...but...would love to have a nice ring to just drop on and get close.

Am I dreaming...or does somebody on the eastside have a slip roller or HF machine with strap dies?

I just clamp it to the rim and hand roll it around the rim makes a really nice circle just make sure you hold it tight to the surface as you bent it around.

Thanks Scott, that is the technique that I saw on the interweb. Closing up the stitch pattern and using the previous weld as the pivot point, etc.

I am probably going to do it this way...but am being a puss.

I like to bend it a little tighter then what I need and the spring back is better than adding more bend when fitting it... I also cut the pieces a little longer so I can bent a complete circle then cut off the extra this way you don't get a flat spot at the end.

I can roll them if you want in everett, or mail you some.
Probably $10 to mail them, $20 for the rings.
You may want to measure your tire bead, 3/4" might be better fit.

DOH!

I welded one on last night....:eeek: I ended up getting some Toyo Open Country's and they do have a pretty thick bead. BUT the 1/2" ring will be better than no ring which is how they were with my old TSL's.

I will keep you in mind for future stuff though. Thanks for the reply.
