The trails will soon be paved for the old school jeepers........Everybody needs to sell there wheeler for a lowrider so we can wheel in the 1970s of 2008.

is it just me Brian or am i missing something?

who has stirred up all this...

-----------

llike someone else said, it's a fawking trail. so far - i have not heard of any serious issues where it needs to be shut down. so WTF is going on...

who DREAMED up all this B.S. to get everyone stirred up over nothing?

it's not about fullsize versus SWB, it's about keeping the trail MANAGED.

NO MATTER WHO OR WHAT SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT NOTHING, any blooming fawking idiot will be seen running the trail anyways. duh.... let's just keep it fixed and go offroading.

now i seriously need to have spec's on my rig before i can go offroading next, i wouldn't want to get cited for being too small or to big or too much horsepower or too long or too wide or ????

give me a break, if theres a person at his meeting asking to have his right to wheel elbe in a semi because he too pays taxes, i'm going to scream in his ear

The region voted unanimously against a wheelbase restriction.
The region voted unanimously in favor of education and resource damage penalties.

How exactly those are to be implemented were completely (and deliberately) avoided.

(and I was there)

And the width restriction?

Rich,

Chill out a little. Your typing is reminscent of RockCrusher.

The DNR is worried about resource damage. The DNR is looking at ALL options to limit resource damage. The DNR asked the PNW for advice on resource damage control. The PNW asked about input on a wheelbase limit as a way of resource damage control. The PNW voted AGAINST wheelbase limits. The DNR meeting is tomorrow, and the PNW will share it's recommendation at that time. Ask Pokey or Mud4funtoy if you have any other questions as they are both very intellegent on the subject.

I didn't get to mention this to you, but that was a good speech

I agree, hopefully you have that written down so you can do it again tomorrow:cool:

The body of my sami is smaller than your jeep. My width is much wider but still wouldnt have a problem. But you old scholl jeepers had you time in the 1970s to do your thing......its our turn now.

I wish it was true Brian but when the smoke all clears it will be the same old timers doing 90% of the work so you kids have a place to play. When were done working on the trails they very likely all dissapear behind gates. Fortunatly we have a few new young guys that are willing to try and get involved:cheer: One of them is the new region 2 director and the other is the new Elbe hills director. Both voted in and appointed tonight. Just wish more like them could put away the retoric and get involved instead of making up reasons as to why they cant or wont. They are the future of our sport:cheer:

Hooray for Ed and Joe!!!!! They both have spent a fair bit of time over the past couple of years helping out at Elbe and have a working relationship with Nancy. Speaking for my club, we will continue to be giving them lots of support at Elbe!

You are completely correct about part of this Pokey. The future is for the young guys to get involved. I hope your wrong about the first part and that we'll see this renewed interest continue and that we'll get more people back being active.

I agree in general with both Pokey and Gibby. The old-timers are the ones most responsible for keeping the trails open. For many reasons, one of which is they built a lot of the trails, another is they have more available time on their hands, another is their generation had better work ethics, another is that they're more apt to belong to a club or organization which is also more apt to feel social pressure to preserve what's been handed down, another... another... etc...

Youth and hard work no longer go hand in hand. Sense of entitlement and all. YES, there are plenty of exceptions to that rule. But it's still true.
