IDK if you guys remember the Epona buggy that was built in one week : http://www.hardlinecrawlers.com/forums/index.php?topic=49717.0

But the builder and friends are at it again !

Fabrice, the owner of GoldenCoastCustoms decided to do another : 1 week / 1 buggy deal, this time for my buddy STF and his son, Nathan.

Nathan was the first person to benefit from a 1 week / 1 buggy deal 4 years ago. Since then he outgrown the little buggy and couldn't ride it safely anymore. For more infos on the first build follow this link : http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/general-4x4-discussion/1511586-comios-project.html

Yeah I know it's pirate, bahhhhhhhh

STF started a buggy build 3 years ago, but life, money, maintaining another buggy for his son and running the pits for a friends U4 team prevented the build to be completed.

A few months ago, Julien, STF's best bud (also the owner of the aforementioned U4 buggy) secretly contacted Fabrice and talked him into setting up another 1 week / 1 buggy build, for STF. They made plans, gathered a crew, and broke the news to STF when everything was ready.

It's going to be a 2 seater, with a strong crawler look and will use the majority of existing parts STF had.

Engine / Trans come from a 3.9 V8 from a Range Rover
Nissan Patrol axles with air lockers and lower ratio gearset
4 airshocks
full hydro steering
37" Maxxis Creepy Crawler tires

Right now, they've been working since yesterday, torn up the previous chassis, built the axle trusses and fired up the engine on a toolbox...

You can follow the progress live, right there : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHFRgf0J1n8

There is no sound sadly. But if you want to feel what the atmosphere is, clic that link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO_xXgiC1aA

Which is a video with sound. In french :D

(how do I embed those ?)

Make sure to keep coming back to see the progress, I can't wait to see what they come up with :smoke:

Edit : Just to add some info, since last year Fabrice expended his organisation and moved to a bigger, more modern building. In the back ground you can see a rally-raid Toyota (Dakar type if that gives you a better idea) and the Togirix bouncer waiting for a LS3 swap. With one ton axles and RCVs, 43" SX stickies on racelines that bouncer is one of the most hardcore vehicle in the country, by far.

They must have been on a break when I first looked this morning... everyone was standing around looking lost .

They look to be hard at it now. Pretty cool.

I should have mentioned that jet lag is +6h from EST.
If you looked around 6am they were probably on lunch break ;)

You can also check their Facebook. No need to have an account :

When you convincing your North American brethren to do this? I know a few folks that could benefit from this (& no, I'm not one of them)

You gotta find the right group of people, the time and money and the will to do it.
But there's been plenty of rigs rebuilds for people that deserved it.
