You sure its a dana 60? I really thought the 99-04 f250`s had dana 50s. It wasn`t until 2005 and up that ford put the dana 60s in 250s and 350s.

Just seen the 248 on the ID tag. Your right it should be a 60.

I just re searched this yesterday when I was under my 02. It's a 248 as well. 99-02.5 F250's have 50's as well as 99-02.5 SRW 350's. DRW 350's and 02.5+ 250's and 350's have 60's. All 05+ trucks have 60's.

Yea I researched it b4 I bought it for that same reason but I read somewhere that they started in 04 with the 60 fronts but some of the 99-03 had d60s in them to. Bought it with intentions of putting it under my xj but decided to go a different way with it now it's just taking up space.
